Can Leadership Trump Experience.

I know, I know. We don't need another entry on this question, so this one is really short. Hil is experience embodied. 8 years in House as an active First Lady. Senate service for a tough state, etc. etc. Obama is an insider, but not on the national level and not in the executive realm.

Key Question: Is America today in a position where it needs the jolt of an inspirational leader over the mark of experience?

Iowa seems to indicate so. I am not convinced, but I am intrigued.

I think the question needs more than 5 days to answer. Regardless of what one believes the answer to be, 5 days between these two contests (Iowa and New Hampshire) is just not enough to allow any respectable candidate time to change strategy, build up different aspects of their candidacy, etc. But, in all likelihood, NH voters will unfortunately follow in the footsteps of Iowans, mostly because they got caught up in the moment.

Don't take this the wrong way- at the moment, I don't have my "favorite" picked out yet- but I would really love to see a fight for the nomination, just for another few months, because no one pays much attention before the first caucus/primary anyway. But this time, it may just be too late.

I've gotta disagree with you on Sen. Clinton's experience: the small number of things she was in charge of when she was first lady didn't go well.

I don't think that having season tickets on the 50 yard line for 8 years qualifies one to go be the quarterback.

That said, she has more experience than either Sen. Obama or Sen. Edwards, although vastly less than either Sen. Dodd or Gov. Richardson.

David summed up my thoughts pretty well. I want to say that a "young fresh face" might be good for the country, but I am hesitant to put someone in who has had no real leadership position (Congress is representatives of their districts/states. Governors govern and lead their states). I don't really know which way I will go, although my votes really doesn't matter since the District always goes Democrat. I'm looking for someone for whom to vote. AJ isn't 35 yet, so I'm going to have to wait for 2012.
